WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Machinist to join our Air MI Tooling team. You will set up and program various tools and equipment to create, modify, or repair precision parts. During production, you must monitor the machinery and conduct regular quality checks to ensure they are running properly and that the parts are being produced according to specifications. Ability to work with minimal oversite. Accuracy is crucial to our production, so all candidates must have attention to detail and be extremely focused on their work.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Producing complex R&D prototype machined parts using state of the art 3 and 5 axis CNC mills.
Following set up instructions and fixturing for the production of parts.
Solid understanding of GD&T and blue prints to hit critical tolerances.
Mentoring and developing team members skills.
Understanding CAM software and posting programs to the machines.
Quality inspection process.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work with machinists, programmers, additive technicians, tooling technicians, production support teams and engineers.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: Bachelors degree + 1 yr or Associates degree + 3 yrs.
- Experience with CNC controls and functions
- Ability to read G-code
- A strong understanding of GD&T
- Ability to effectively communicate to leadership, follow standard processes and work independently.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong machining skills
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment that requires quick thinking and effective multitasking
- Experience working with Cam software a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office a plus
- Experience with the lean process or an equivalent is a plus
- Ability to pick up 30 lbs., for example, loading material into CNC’s
